Since Dylan Died

Dylan

Music like that of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and others holds an important place in American culture. But most of their songs, like Dylan's The Times They Are A-Changin', have faded into the musical background despite their relevance in today's world. That is, after all, the way it is.

Ian Booth's upcoming debut album, Since Dylan Died, includes songs that some say tap into the same edgy relevence that gave Dylan's early music such a spark in its time. Booth admits to the fantasy of having the title song move Dylan himself to "write another song or two that can help get the bus out of the ditch." Booth says, "Come on, Bob! Your new stuff is nice ... but you still have it in you to write one of those GIANT songs ... and we could sure use it about now!"

Booth is in pre-production with Since Dylan Died, a CD that showcases a variety of musical styles and a wide range of temperments, from folk and folk/rock to jazzy blues, melodic love songs and even a few stare-into-your-beer country songs. Bob would approve.

From: Since Dylan Died

Now where's his song
A brand new tale
That one guitar
That haunting wail
In a land gone to hell
Since Dylan died

Where's his song
A brand new tale
May the mighty Muse
Fill his sails
In a land gone to hell
Since Dylan died
