Sustainable Now – for a brighter future

The Concert!

Ian Booth

First, Ian Booth will welcome the audience with a few words about Sustainable Now. He will mention that sustainability means living and working in a way that meets today's needs without causing harm to the environment, to the real economy, to other people or to future generations. He will briefly discuss Sustainable Now's model program to help each of us, as individuals, create a sustainable future for ourselves, our families and our community. Booth will also talk briefly about the Sustainable Now website and the presentation "The Times They Are a Changin', and How it Might Affect You."

The main purpose of the evening, though, is to entertain the guests and to offer welcomed relief, good fun and good music. Booth will take the audience inside the world of a singer/songwriter and show how the Muse just shows up when you least expect it! He will fill the evening with stories and songs that illustrate how a particular image or phrase or incident unexpectedly insisted on becoming a song, sometimes complete with words and music!

Booth will perform many of the songs from his upcoming CD Since Dylan Died. He will also cover songs by some of his favorite writers including Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, John Prine, Greg Brown and others. Booth will play two sets with a 15-20 minute break between sets.

Booth promises an enjoyable evening for everyone, "or I'll eat my hat!"
